In the first quarter of 2025, the top News and Magazines applications on the Android platform in Oceania demonstrated varied performance across downloads, active users, and revenue. Here's a closer look at the trends for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

X (Formerly Twitter) by X Corp. saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $16.5K in mid-February. Weekly downloads showed a peak at 9.8K in early February, while active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 730K and 780K.

Emergency WA maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting high at 11.9K and then tapering off to 1.8K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated, starting from 47K and ending the quarter at 28K.

Substack showed consistent growth in weekly downloads, beginning with 2.5K and reaching 3.6K by the end of March. Active users increased significantly, starting at 35K and ending at 62K, indicating rising engagement.
